Late last week (Thurs) and yesterday morning (Mon, 10/17) I saw 2 coyotes on Albers between Hazeltine and Woodman. Please post a warning on the neighborhood watch board for people who own cats and small dogs to keep them in at night. When I saw the coyotes last Thursday morning (6 am), they had already killed a black cat.

An article in Time magazine from 1975 detailing the deadly encounters with coyotes in Los Angeles 36 years ago!

One Brentwood Hills matron lost three cats in 18 months; a Briarcliff public relations man reports losing a treasured Persian cat when a coyote “trotted right up to our front lawn and casually carried it off.” Says Charles Rosenberg, a stockbroker in suburban Sherman Oaks: “At 10:30 at night, it is always the same thing: the howling begins, then the bloodcurdling screams, then silence.”
